There will be a noticeable absence of sexiness around the Falcons squad for the next 10-14 days, as Doug Short, aka Dougothy Casino, aka G-3, aka Where's Doug-O, has been designated for assignment.

"We want him to go play for The Pigeons and see if he can remember how to hit a baseball." explained current Falcons GM Stannis Baratheon.

Short wilted in the summer sun last year, posting horrific second half numbers, and the Falcons organization is hoping to prevent a repeat.

2015:
First 21 games: OBP -.648%, 4 HR, 29 RBI in 54 at-bats
Last 17 games: OBP -.347%, 1 HR, 11 RBI in 49 at-bats

Considering that he has produced a .412 OBP with 1 HR and 8 RBI over the past 7 games, it seems like this is the correct time for Short to head down to the minors and try to get some quality at-bats. Falcons management is expected to return Short to the main roster for either the July 25 or August 7 game.

In related news, after last night's performance, Falcons management did confirm they wanted to send Dinner down to The Pigeons along with Short but due to recent issues fielding a full team, they elected to keep him on the active roster. Dinner was informed by Big Cat and Poutine however, he's on a short leash.
