chat_bubble WMSPL Power Rankings - Week 10

No more poetry (poetry is hard). This week, the strong teams showed their strength, and one team (Falcons) were exposed, right out there in front of everyone.

#1. A's
(Rank last week: 1)
Record: 17-1-3 (2-0-0 this week)
1st place in the President's Division (1st overall in WMSPL)

Another undefeated week for the A's, who haven't lost since May 22 to, I will continue to remind you, the Falcons. There's still almost half the season left, so it's inevitable that the A's will lose another game. They play the Falcons coming up on August 22nd, and I bet they've got that date circled on their calendar. Sure, they play Storm this Sunday and Storm's been playing championship-calibre ball lately. But the A's are worried about the Falcons in more than a month. Of this, I am certain.

#2. Broadway
(Rank last week: 2)
Record: 16-3-2 (2-0-0 this week)
2nd place in the President's Division (2nd in WMSPL)

Broadway has won 6 straight. They're +24 this week alone. They're only a game and a half behind the A's for first place overall, and if they can keep up this pace, they're poised to overtake them should the A's stumble. They can't stop looking behind them, either because...

#3. Storm
(Rank last week: 3)
Record: 16-4-1 (2-0-0 this week)
3rd place in the President's Division (3rd overall in WMSPL)

... Storm is on the rampage. They've won seven in a row, though 4 of those victories were over VP division teams, and one was by default. They were unstoppable on Tuesday. They face a tough challenge on Sunday when the play the A's. Fortunately for Storm, the scheduling gods put this game on K2, and not in front of the pizza-eating Falcons on K1.

#4. Rebels
(Rank last week: 7)
Record: 11-10-0 (2-0-0 this week)
2nd place in the Vice President's Division (5th th in WMSPL)

The Rebels have rebounded quite well, winning both their games this week by double-digits. Lee is tied for the league lead in dongs, and I'm sure they're very impressive. With the Falcons falling on their faces a lot lately, the Rebels can taste the division lead.

#5. SI Play
(Rank last week: 5)
Record: 10-10-1 (1-1-0 this week)
4th place in the President's Division (6th in WMSPL)

Sports Illustrated has won 3 of 4, and the only loss was a default to Storm. They face a tough challenge in Broadway in game 1 of their Sunday doubleheader coming up. Can they maintain this momentum?

#6. Falcons
(Rank last week: 4)
Record: 13-8-0 (1-0-0 this week)
1st place in the Vice President's Division (4th in WMSPL)

The Falcons have been living up to their Twitter handle lately. They haven't won consecutive games in a month, and their lead in the VP division has shrunk down to only 2 games. Their idiot writer has made an irresponsible bold prediction of wins in 8 of their next 11, which is sure to blow up in their faces. Will the Falcons lead the VP division on August 1st?

#7. Coulas Bone Crushers
(Rank last week: 6)
Record: 8-11-2 (0-2-0 this week)
5th place in the President's Division (7th in WMSPL)

Coulas has lost 3 straight, and have a very difficult doubleheader coming up on Sunday with games against SI and Hanet. They'll need to have more than 8 of their own guys show up to play if they want to avoid losing 5 straight.

#8. Greenthumb
(Rank last week: 10)
Record: 7-13-1 (2-1-0 this week)
Tied for 3rd place in the Vice President's Division (Tied for 8th in WMSPL)

There's a 3 team log-jam for 8th in the WMSPL, and Greenthumb comes up on top thanks to a winning week, and the shortest losing streak of the three teams.

#9. Re/Max Crossroads
(Rank last week: 11)
Record: 5-16-0 (2-1-0 this week)
5th place in the Vice President's Division (11th in WMSPL)

HUGE jump for Re/Max this week, thanks to a 2-1 record, and Drew now has to change is undies. They've won 3 of 4, their only loss coming to the VP division leading Falcons on Sunday. They've added a returning player to replace an injury and their future is looking bright.

#10. Hanet Plastics
(Rank last week: 8)
Record: 6-12-3 (0-2-0 this week)
6th place in the President's Division (Tied for 8th in WMSPL)

I guess Hanet needs to play more games angry? They blew out the Falcons after getting frustrated with the A's, but have lost by double digits in the three games since. They need to play more games as the Hulk, and less as Bruce Banner.

#11. Brew Crew
(Rank last week: 9)
Record: 7-13-1 (0-2-0 this week)
Tied for 3rd place in the Vice President's Division (Tied for 8th in WMSPL)

Brew Crew has lost 5 in a row, and are winless in 9. They're on a downward trend, and have Rebels, Coulas, Surge, Falcons, Storm in their next 5.

#12. Surge
(Rank last week: 12)
Record: 3-18-0 (0-3-0 this week)
6th place in the Vice President's Division (12th in WMSPL)

The bottom seems to have fallen out on Surge. They're winless this week, and losers of 5 in a row, and 7 of their last 8.
