chat_bubble WMSPL Power Rankings - Week 11

We move into the dog days of summer, and the grind continues. The juggernaut A's continue to steamroll the league, and the Falcons continue to slip. The Rebels are making a charge and SI Play is right there with them.

#1. A's
(Rank last week: 1)
Record: 18-1-3 (1-0-0 this week)
1st place in the President's Division (1st overall in WMSPL)

Only mother nature can stop the A's, as their weekday game this week was rained out. But a walk-off grand slam on Sunday put them over a different type of Storm, further cementing their dominance.

#2. Broadway
(Rank last week: 2)
Record: 17-5-2 (1-2-0 this week)
2nd place in the President's Division (2nd in WMSPL)

After a split in their Sunday doubleheader, Broadway lost to the Rebels in a nail-biter. But they have one more win than Storm this week, so they retain the #2 spot.

#3. Storm
(Rank last week: 3)
Record: 16-5-1 (0-1-0 this week)
3rd place in the President's Division (3rd overall in WMSPL)

A storm prevented Storm from playing on Monday in an attempt to salvage the week. Thus, Storm went winless this week.

#4. Rebels
(Rank last week: 4)
Record: 13-10-0 (2-0-0 this week)
2nd place in the Vice President's Division (Tied for 5th th in WMSPL)

Winners of 4 in a row, the Rebels find themselves only a game back of the division leading Falcons, whom they'll play in game one of their doubleheader this Sunday. A win will put them in a tie for first in the Vice President's division.

#5. SI Play
(Rank last week: 5)
Record: 13-10-1 (3-0-0 this week)
4th place in the President's Division (Tied for 5th in WMSPL)

SI has also won 4 in a row, but it might be too little, too late to make any significant headway in the President's Division. If they can keep this up, they could secure a Friday bye in the playoff tournament.

#6. Coulas Bone Crushers
(Rank last week: 7)
Record: 10-12-2 (2-1-0 this week)
5th place in the President's Division (7th in WMSPL)

Big rebound for Coulas, after a 3-game losing streak, they've gone 2-1. A big test for them awaits on Sunday, as they have a date with Broadway in one of the early games.

#7. Falcons
(Rank last week: 6)
Record: 14-9-0 (1-1-0 this week)
1st place in the Vice President's Division (4th in WMSPL)

God, the Falcons suck-diddley-uck. They can't get anything going offensively, and in an offence-first sport, that's a big problem. They're playing just well enough to get moved up to the President's Division for 2019 without winning the Vice President's Division in 2018 (which is the worst possible thing).

#8. Greenthumb
(Rank last week: 8)
Record: 8-13-1 (1-0-0 this week)
3rd place in the Vice President's Division (8th in WMSPL)

A perfect week for Greenthumb, thanks to a rainout on Monday. Even if you didn't SEE Andrew Carleton in the parking lot on Sunday, you HEARD him.

#9. Hanet Plastics
(Rank last week: 10)
Record: 7-14-3 (1-2-0 this week)
6th place in the President's Division (9th in WMSPL)

After getting swept in Sunday's doubleheader, they salvaged the week with a win over Surge on Wednesday. They have Storm first thing Sunday afternoon.

#10. Re/Max Crossroads
(Rank last week: 9)
Record: 5-17-0 (0-1-0 this week)
5th place in the Vice President's Division (11th in WMSPL)

Re/Max drops one spot since they didn't win this week.

#11. Brew Crew
(Rank last week: 11)
Record: 7-15-1 (0-2-0 this week)
4th place in the Vice President's Division (10th in WMSPL)

The Brew Crew has now lost 7 straight, tied for the longest current losing streak in the league...

#12. Surge
(Rank last week: 12)
Record: 3-20-0 (0-2-0 this week)
6th place in the Vice President's Division (12th in WMSPL)

... with Surge.
