For the eighth time this season the Falcons were unable to field a complete team and went into the Sunday night game against the first place Devils with only 9 players. Missing from the lineup were the big sticks of Greg, D.C. and Barry. However, this being the dog days of summer, the Devils also could only field 9 players.

Against the Falcons� patchwork defense, the Devils scored 9 runs in the first inning to take a commanding lead. But Falcons never quit. A big second inning, as the Falcons scored 8 runs and some defensive adjustments, put them right back in this game. The defense held and through 5 innings the Falcons were ahead 17 � 10.

The TSN8 turning point was a Devils� no out, bases loaded rally in the 5th. A hard ground ball to Bill at short who gunned the runner down at home. The on-loan catcher, Scott, fired a bullet to third to catch the Devil�s Ryan off the bag.

A relaxed Falcon squad won this one 22 � 17.
