After returning to a winning state of ball on Friday with a decisive victory over the Devils, the Falcons stumbled then fell flat on their collective faces in a 13-6 loss to Xtreme in game 1 of a Sunday doubleheader.
Fresh off FALCONS1 arriving at K1 Stadium (naming rights still available), the Falcons (11-5) began the game with confidence. Even with the late sign out of Beaver, siting severe Shoeless Joe Jackson syndrome coupled with what appeared to be a bad case of erythema solare, the Falcons scored 4 runs in the top of the first inning. That was the last time the Falcons would hold a lead in this game. Arriving at the park right after getting his monthly Brazillian, Senior made his first pitching start of the season, but only lasted a third of an inning giving up four runs (with little help from the defence) before being replaced by Cashley.
The bats fell silent after that for the Falcons, and they scored only two more runs over the next six innings. They had no problems hitting the ball into the air though, making 16 out of their 21 outs without the ball touching the ground.
Game Notes: SLF finally made a play in right… Don’t call me Dick was showing off the gams in his short pants… That sound you hear is everyone reading this recap looking up “erythema solare”… Would it kill them to mow the outfield?... The Falcons have lost three of their last four… Don't say anything to anyone, but Don't call me Dick accompanied Senior to "Mr. Tims Brazillians and Such" for his first treatment. He liked it...
