assignment Falcons Make Adjustments For Fourth Straight Win
Friday 9:30PM June 13th, 2014
The Falcons went to bat with a re-jigged line up and used it to its full potential in a 19-6 defeat of the Coulas Bone Crushers on a rare Friday night game on K1.

Riding high after a convincing win over the 2013 WMSPL Playoff Tournament Champion A's, Coach Cash Man arrived at the field with a batting order heretofore unseen. The Falcons were already riding a four-game unbeaten streak, but as the Cash Man always says: "If it ain't broke, fix the hell out of it!" The new order featured Goliath as the lead off hitter, showcasing his nearly .800 OBP. The Falcons traditional lead off, SLF, was moved down to sixth in the order, obviously to make the most use of his new Pop Tart-sourced power.

With the Falcons defence showing its typical stinginess, Coulas was unable to score in the first two innings. The Falcons, on the other hand, scored four in the bottom of the first inning. As seems to be typical lately, the Falcons put up more than six runs in an inning. In this case it was the second inning where they scored ten, to the delight of all, highlighted by home runs by Our Only Friend and SLF (#boom).

The Bone Crushers got their offensive act together in the next three innings, putting up six runs, but it wasn't enough on this night. The Falcons plated five more in the bottom of the fourth (thanks in most part to a bases clearing three-run double by Dinner), and held Coulas scoreless in the final two innings for the big victory over a division rival.

Game Notes: Another game, another FK via the long ball... Two more wins for free beer... Our Only Friend is beginning to turn the Falcons MVP race into not much of a race at all... It's becoming a rarity, but we played all seven innings!
