A shortened Falcons squad and an even more shortened Direct Elevator squad took the field to put on a hitting clinic during this Sunday 6:30PM game on K2 at Maypo Yards.

After holding Direct to 2 runs in the top of the 1st, the Falcons' hitting clinic began, sending 15 batters to the plate that scored 12 runs.

After holding Direct to another 2 runs in the top of the 2nd, the Falcons hitting clinic resumed scoring another 6 runs to take an 18-4 lead going into the 3rd.

Wanting to show what they can do, Direct then put on their own hitting clinic that plated 20 runs (!!!) over the next 2 innings which saw them take a 24-18 lead into the bottom of the 4th.

The Falcons, somewhat dazed after that 2-inning series of Direct upper cuts, body blows and haymakers, gathered themselves nicely to get their sticks going again to score 7 to take a very slim 25-24 lead into the 5th inning.

After surprisingly holding Direct to a Rick Traill solo home run in the 5th, the Falcons scored 5 more in their bottom half of the inning, and with the game curfew quickly approaching, they took a seemingly insurmountable 5 run lead going into the 6th.

A 1-2-3 6th, the only inning Direct didn't score, and the game was officially in the books: Falcons 30, Direct 25.

Game Notes:
It's become obvious: Eman, and several other Direct hitters are doing the Rob Wagner workout program... DC, showing he can be one-dimensional, went yard twice in the first inning, notching 7 RBIs (Booya Bird!)... Still on baby duty, and MIA from this game, SLF bought a radar gun to see how fast late arriving Falcons can run to the diamond to avoid a cussing from Junior...
