The rain came and went but the runs kept on coming as the Falcons took advantage of a limited Rebels bench in a 26-8 victory on Tuesday night at K2 Field at Maypo Yards.
The Falcons seem to believe that if assigned a reputation, own it. They ran out of home runs by the fourth batter of the top of the first inning, and had to keep it in the yard for the rest of the night. Not that they did that. The Rebels made the mistake of going yard late in the game to give Goliath the opportunity for his second dinger of the night.
For the second straight game, the Falcons were hot on D, and scored enough runs to win. Time for a break.
Game Notes: Coach Cash Man will address the team next week on the subject of "Selfish Play". First up on the agenda for that little chat: Cash Man's repeated use of SLF as his own personal pinch runner early in games to pad his 'Runs Scored' stat... Bird is developing a second dimension, that being the ability to hit the fence on the fly, rather than sending the ball 80 feet over it... With over a week between games, the Falcons will enjoy a little R&R. Specifically Seņior Sevens, who will be going for his routine Brazilian in an attempt to break out of his current slump...
