assignment Missed It By THAT Much

The Storm once again showed why they're the powerhouse of the President's Division, as they pulled one out at the last second for their 22nd win in a row with a 13-12 walk-off victory over the beloved Falcons on Friday night at K1.

The Storm led 2-1 after two innings, but the Falcons burst out with a 6-spot in the top of the third to take a 7-2 lead. The Storm couldn't answer, and that score carried over to the fourth.

The Falcons bats went silent after that, putting up delicious doughnuts in the next two innings, while simultaneously allowing the Storm to erase the deficit and take the lead. The Storm led 10-7 going into the sixth.

Nine Falcons went to the plate in the top of the sixth, and the team plated 4 runs to take a 12-10 lead. The Falcons needed to hold that lead through the bottom half in case the game ran into the dreaded 85 minute time limit.

The Falcons could not. The Storm scored two and re-took the lead going into the seventh.

Goliath gave the team hope of salvaging a tie by crushing a homer in the top of the seventh.

Sadly, for great teams, scoring a single run is fairly easy. Skinny Bop retired the lead off Stormer in the bottom of the 7th, but an intentional walk and two hits plated the winning run for the President's Division leader.

Game Notes: On Saturday morning, The Storm holds a 7 game lead over the Falcons in the President's Division, with only 10 games to go (11 for Storm)... At least the umpire wasn't on crutches...

Boxscore:

Team 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Final
Falcons 0 1 6 0 0 4 1 12
Storm 1 1 0 5 3 2 1 13
