assignment Falcons Lose Third Straight
Sunday 6:30PM July 23rd, 2017
In the latest edition of "Too Little, Too Late", we have the Falcons losing to Hanet 13-10 in a game that they could have won if they'd hit in every other inning like they did in the first and sixth.

The Falcons offence has been shockingly binary this season. It's either full throttle, or in reverse (I know, that's not binary. Shut up.) A four run top of the first inning lead right into 3 straight scoreless innings, as they let the lead slip away, and fell into an unrecoverable hole. Stop me if you hear this before, but after switching pitchers, Poutine let in only 3 runs over 4 innings after taking over for Yeah Teets' 10 ER performance.

Two Home Runs In One Inning Watch: The last time a Falcon hit two home runs in one inning was August 29, 2012.

Game Notes: Game highlights included Chris trying to "slide" into third base. If anyone has a YouTube link to that old cartoon where the bird (Dodo? Albatross?) is landing on a runway, comes in with a perfect approach, then cartwheels to a stop, let me know and I'll embed it into this recap... In the ongoing saga of "What Will There Be More Of?", Miner Leaguer leads with 6 games played, to Poutine's 5 home runs...

Tough weekend. Time to get back to basics on Tuesday. Wait for your pitch, shorten your swing, and get on base. We need to avoid the 3 up 3 down innings.

That's pretty harsh, man. I concede that although my 'trying to slide into 3rd' appeared to be less than graceful, it was effective in that my plan to distract the 3rd baseman, was executed perfectly. When he should have been focused on tagging me, he was actually thinking, WTF is this guy doing ??? On another note, I find it suspect, that this overshadowed my 4 for 4 performance, ending with a high velocity grounder, which culminated in the "writer-of-reviews" to be caught flat-footed and dinged by the ball and therefore, being called out. That was the turning point in another painful loss. Sour grapes ? Possibly..

They scored that a single? That's clearly a fielder's choice. I'll have to go back and fix that. In addition, that grounder was the Kennedy bullet of ground balls. Took a sharp right just before I was about to let it go by.

So let me get this straight-the ball bounced up and then in mid air mind you suddenly took a right hand turn to hit you. Man that is one magical ball. Now your going to tell me there was a second gun man on the grassy knoll as well

I guess Bill's running things during the game and Chris is going to write the recap? Can't wait!
