The Falcons took care of business as expected in an efficient open to the 2023 WMSPL season with a 26-2 win over The A's.If the Falcons were rusty, it didn't show. They arrived at the field out of shape, and out of practice, but thankfully NOT out of beer. Scoring the MAX6 in the first, second, and fourth innings, the offence was clicking. Barry Guerrero Jr led the way with two dingers and 6 RBI. Grahambo looked to be in mid-season form, making multiple WOW snags at short, and multiple "nice throw, idiot" follow-up moves as well. Mid-season form, indeed.
Game notes: Homie's scoresheet doodle: Attendance 1 😀... The Falcon defence held the A's to 1-13/14 trips through their batting order... Confusion reigned on the sign out sheet pre-game, because despite literal months to plan, some players still didn't know by the 4pm cutoff if they were coming or going... Homie, Falcons scorekeeper, seems to be passive-aggressively campaigning for bribes. Teets' clear double to finish off the MAX 6 first inning was, despite Poutine's protests, marked as a single... Dunner, 50, leads the team in triples... Welcome, Adam (Shelley?)! The new draftee made a good first impression with a 1.000 fielding percentage and went 2-for-2 with 2 BB... As noted in a Wednesday morning email, kudos to the Isotopes who played the game the right way late with the time limit looming, even if it meant they got walked-off by the Expos.
