In a rematch of the 2023 season opener, the Falcons rode an early lead to a win over The A’s, 19-6.

In an event as rare as a Shelley Two-Bags sighting, the top of the Falcons lineup somehow started the game with no hits; a leadoff Cowboy walk was followed by consecutive outs through the meat of the order. The A’s followed suit, sending 4 of their own to the dish and plating none to leave the game scoreless after 1.

From there, the Falcons got off their schneid and went to work; a MAX6 in the 2nd was followed by a Grahambo 2-run bomb in the next inning to give the visitors an 11-2 lead after 3. The A’s staged a late 7th inning rally, but a strikeout by Teets and a 6-5 put out ended this one early.

Game notes: The 3rd inning saw two A’s runners gunned down by the Falcons outfield: Cowboy nailed the leadoff batter trying to take second on a single. Later, Miner Leaguer threw a death pass to Grahambo, who caught the ball off the bag and was then (needlessly, mind you) run into by a Scott Stevens impersonator trying to retreat back to second… Kudos to Grahambo for hanging onto the ball and taking a shot better than Tim Anderson… Dunner had a rare no-RBI night and saw his lead over the next guy dwindle down to a scant 21 ribbies... If SLF and PizzaCo accrued fines for late sign outs, Beatty should gain credits for signing in, in the midst of an addition to the family no less… perfect night at the plate by Dr J… The A’s and Falcons go at it again on Friday night, with free drinks on the line!
