The Falcons remained undefeated on weekdays with a convincing 25-13 victory over Coulas on Tuesday evening.Neither team seemed to have the defence going early. Coulas scored five of their first six batters in the top of the first, and stranded their MAX6 man on third. The Falcons sent eight men to the plate and scored the first six for what's as close to an immaculate offensive inning as you're going to see.
The teams exchanged doughnuts in the second, but not without Miner Leaguer hitting a double and trying this move, which "failed" for the first out of the inning.
Coulas struggled at the plate in third, scoring none, and the fourth and fifth innings, scoring only a single run in each. The Falcons fared a bit better, beginning the third inning with three consecutive doubles leading to a four-spot, and Billy Joel walked into the bar. In the fifth, the Falcons' bats really came alive. Six two-baggers with a few singles scattered about put up a 10-spot, and it was nine o'clock on a Saturday.
Game Notes: The Falcons have yet to hit a home run in 2024... At 3-1, the Falcons are tied for fourth in the President's Division... Yet-to-be-scheduled pizza night got a healthy fund injection, with the team totaling $25 in fines... The last Falcon with more RBI than hits in a season was Beatty in 2023.
