assignment Long Between-Game Break Benefits Falcons
Sunday 9:30PM July 13th, 2025
The Falcons scored in every inning but the fifth, and the outfield defence had the Crew holding back in an 18-6 win to cap off Sunday's doubleheader.

After having finished game one versus Triple Play in a blink-and-you-miss-it 59 minutes, there was plenty of time for the Falcons to board FALCONS1 for the trip over to K1 to take on the Crew. A layover at Million Dollar Bill's trunk fuelled the team back up to take on WMSPL President's Division leading The Crew.

The big ol' Falcons D made their presence known early. In the bottom of the first, down one already thanks to a Poutine RBI single, The Crew's lead off hitter got aboard on a single. Mario followed with a double to left centre, and Shannon tried to score. A beautiful relay by Million Dollar Bill of Cowboy's laser from the outfield gunned Shannon down at the plate, and it wouldn't be the last time in this game it was a mistake to challenge the Falcons' arms.

The Falcons put up two in the top of the second to go up 3-1, highlighted by SLF's triple. In the bottom half, The Crew scored two, but with two out tried to out run the Falcons' guns. With Resty on second and two out, WMSPL President and Crew Captain Eric was heard telling Resty to be ready to go on the crack of the bat. Kyle singled to left, and Resty headed for home, only to be thrown out by SLF to end the inning and the threat. The young fans beyond the left field fence were entertained. Anyway, after two, the game was tied 3-3.

In the top of the third, the Falcons scored a run on an SLF fielder's choice that very much should have been an infield fly, but you can't call that after the play's already happened, right? Right? Right. Then the big D you've heard about went to work. Backing up Poutine's night to remember on the mound, The Crew went doughnut-doughnut-singleton-singleton-singleton for the rest of the night. Cowboy threw out ANOTHER runner trying to tag from first on a fly out, and The Crew stopped trying to take the extra bag.

A MAX6 in the fourth, and a six run seventh capped off another 59 minute game, and it was early beers for a Sunday Doubleheader Sweep.

Game Notes: Taking down the top two teams in the league after getting destroyed by the 12th team earlier in the week encapsulates the paradox that is the Falcons... Games like these make it seem like we could actually #WIFB
