assignment Falcons Keep Rolling
Wednesday 9:30PM July 16th, 2025

Part of the 2025 season story for the Falcons is an inability to field anything close to a full roster. Last night marked 6 games in a row where we had 9 guys or less, so it was especially disturbing to watch that number dwindle down even further in real time.
Barry Guerrero Jr was on the scorecard but got stuck in a place so far away that having power isn’t a regular thing, and then Beatty almost died mid-game (and we’ll get to that later). Where would the Falcons be without Glorious Dan, playing in his 7th (!!) game and filling the stat sheet once again?
In the 1st, the first two Surge batters hit bloop singles to the outfield, with Cowboy logging 1,000 miles to get to them while the only backup Poutine and Dunner provided was applause for the effort. The leadoff runner eventually scored to give Surge an early 1-0 lead.
It was all business for the Falcons from there. Paul recorded the only out—a sac fly—for a MAX6 and the home side never looked back. 5 more in the 4th and 9 in the fifth combined with Million Dollar Bill’s pitching gem closed this one out.
GAME NOTES: In trying to scoop a one-hopper across the diamond, 1B Beatty did something bad to his hamstring (ankle?) and, one batter later, asked for time. What the Falcons suspected was Beatty checking for a rip in his pants was actually something more akin to heat stroke (thanks for nothing, 35C humidity at 10pm). The game was paused while both teams tended to the guy who just an inning earlier destroyed a ball to the playground. We are thankful he recovered and, on a final note, “we love you Beatty” is the thing Poutine meant to say out loud instead of “if anything happens, I have your wife on speed dial”… not accounted for below, but Glorious Dan went 4 for 5 with 2 RBIs... with all of the extra games played, Dan can sit wherever the hell he wants at the banquet… Dunner went 4 for 4 with a BB, and Cowboy was a HR short of the cycle.
