assignment That was entertaining!

Going into the Falcons vs. Coulas matchup Tuesday at K2, you might have thought a 4th place President's division team, with 21 wins and a +104 run differential, would have an easy time against a 6th place VP team, with 6 wins and a -262 run differential. You would be wrong.

Coulas scored 3 right off the bat. Steve led off with a single, and the Falcons scored 3 too. As Grahambo always says, we didn't lose the inning (He's better at math than he lets on).

Coulas plated another 2 in the 2nd. The Falcons answered back with a max 6, including a Cowboy double and a Beatty no-doubter HR bomb, 9-5 good guys.

Another 3 scored by Coulas in the 3rd, and the Falcons answered back with a not so delicious donut. The only donut of the entire game, defense was not either team's forte tonight, my friends.

After Coulas brought in 3 runs to start the fourth, with DC on first, Cowboy hit a blooper, not more than 20 feet past first base. The ball had a little English rolling into foul territory, and by the way have you heard that Steve is pretty fast? Yeah that ended up being the shortest hit inside-the-park home run that I've ever seen. Four more runs and the Falcons are up 15-11.

Coulas wouldn't go away, like Labrecque hiding in the bushes outside Jerome's living room window when the baby sitter is there. Scoring 4 more runs in the 5th, it was tied at 15. With one out and nobody on in the bottom half, DC hit one a foot or so out of the batter's box, the ball was overthrown at first and DC ended up on 3B. As Beatty so eloquently put it, DC could've rolled his dick out farther than that hit! Stevie ripped a triple to I-forget-where to complete the CYCLE BABY! Attaboy Steve! Labrecque sailed one over the right field fence for a nice dinger. Billy sailed one over the left field fence for a really pretty home-run-out! Falcons plated 6 to go up 22-15.

Another 4 from Coulas in the 6, and with time ticking down the Falcons plated 7 more to make it 29-19, that's your final score.

GAME NOTES: We were never up more than 3 runs going into the bottom half of an inning... Ryan forgot to give us our banquet tickets Sunday, I'll grab them this weekend. The banquet is Friday October 3. Let me know if you are going and send me your ticket money by September 11, I think it's $20 and players will get their $20 back at the door...
