The Falcons kept the good times rolling on Monday night, beating the rebranded "Hanet Heat" 25-9 on Monday night, improving their record to 3-0. (I do not have a new logo so old Hanet plastics image it is for this recap)

Down 5-4 after two, the Falcons really got things going in the 3rd inning. Recent draftees Matt and John continued swinging their hot sticks (no Labrecque, that's not a dick joke!) with a walk from Matt and a 2 run dinger from John, his 2nd HR only 3 games into this WMSPL season. Doubles from Barry Guerrero Jr and Poutine, and a single from Million Dollar Bill plated two more. A Kevin single and a DC 3-bagger plated two more, capping of a max 6 3rd inning. A delicious donut in the bottom half kept the score at 11-5.

In the 4th, a Cowboy single and Grahambo walk, set the stage for Dunner's next at bat. Sean connected and hit one hard and deep (no Labrecque, again not a dick joke!)... which bounced off the outfielder's glove and over the fence! One couldn't help but recall this Jose Canseco defensive gem...

... was it a dinger? Would it count as a HR in the in-game plus 2 rule? Would it count towards the league's homerun total? No, no and unfortunately not. The ump immediately ruled it a 4 base hit and that it did not count towards the plus 2 home run rule. Dunner himself looked up the rule and sent it to me this morning, confirming from the WMSPL rules "Balls deflected over the fence by a fielder is considered a 4-base award and not a home run and therefore would not count toward the home run total." Well, there's no "4-base award" on this falcons site so it's a HR in this boxscore! A walk and a string of singles plated three more for another max-6 inning. With 4 Hanet runs in the 4th, it was 17-9 good guys.

The top of the 5th started with DC stepping up to plate and saying "Hey these new guys are great and all, but us old guys can still swing the sticks too!", depositing a "Grahambo" solo shot over the left-centre fence. Then an RBI single from Beatty, a two RBI single from John, and more RBI singles from Poutine, Billy and Shohei. A Kevin sac fly capped an 8th run top of the 5th. Then we either ran out of time or Hanet tapped out, game over, Falcons win 25-9.

GAME NOTES: Our newest Falcons Kevin, John and Matt are in need of nicknames... Kevin went 3 for 3 with 2 R , 3 RBI and a SF, putting to rest any questions about Cowboy's ringing endorsement... We had too many RBIs noted in the 4th, 2 out of 3 people in John, Barry, Labrecque got RBIs in the 4th but I'm not sure who did and who didn't, if you recall let me know, now I have them as Barry & Labrecque.
