It was another freeze your balls off kinda night for a 9:30pm low single digit degrees May softball game. A few late signouts and a pre-game finger slicing that kept Barry away reduced us to 10. New draft pick Matty (that's the best I can do for a nickname for now, help me out here guys) waltzed up to K1 a batter or two into the game, which gave an opportunity to honorary Falcon Dan from Inglorious Batters, fresh off an upset of The Crew, to take a few pitches at catcher for us. Dan played for us 8 times last year. Beatty is your buddy working on a jersey for him, or what?

Shohei was a little cold and thrown off by the muddy mound area, giving up 4 runs in the top of the first to Coulas. Like Grahambo always tells us, we tried to "win the inning" but could only tie it with 4 of our own, highlighted by a Dunner 2 run jack. A few total runs in the next frame led to a 6-5 Coulas lead after two.

Beatty led off the bottom of the 3rd with a "Duncan" solo shot, and we finally took Grahambo's advice and won the inning 6-3, taking the lead at 11-9. A 5 spot in the 4th made it 16-10.

The open 5th inning saw 9 Falcons cross home plate, behind another Beatty dinger, this time of the two run variety; and a Stevie inside the parker that plated 3. 25-13 is your final score, the Falcons are 4-0.

GAME NOTES:Steve was a double away from hitting for the cycle, Beatty & Dunn both a triple away, Arbour was a double, a triple, and a homer away... We had a surprise visit from recently retired Falcon Jerome, wearing a very nice suit, demonstrating he clearly has more important things to do than play beer league softball. Of course we roped him into scoring for us while he was here... Speaking of retired Falcons, Ash piped up in the group chat and chipped in a photo of some injury of his own, that i intentionally immediately scrolled past. Learned my lesson after seeing Ash's pics in the group chat last year of the giant hole in his leg after a comebacker turned into an infection and god knows what else. Nice to see and hear from you guys! Once a Falcon, always a Falcon.
