assignment A late Falcons charge keeps the free beer flowing...

The Falcons actually started this game with 11 players meaning a spare! An inning down for some guys, a little rest for our weary bones? What a treat! Not so fast. Labrecque started talking about playing the minimum two innings on defense. Was it his usual jockeying for more time on the bench? Meanwhile, Hanet started the game off with a max 6 run 1st inning, and the Falcons with a not so delicious donut. A 4 spot for Hanet in the 2nd, and the Falcons were down 10-0 after an inning and a half. Ouch.
At some point early in the game, what sounded like a large animal dying was apparently Mike sick in the bushes. No Beatty, I know what you're thinking, he wasn't acting just to get out of playing the game, or doing something freaky with one of his grindr buddies. He was legitimately sick with food poisoning. Poutine's night was over after 1 plate appearance. Hope you're feeling better, Labrecque.
The Falcons answered back with a max 6 2nd inning, highlighted by nothing particularly interesting. A Falcons pitching change meant a delicious Hanet donut in the 3rd (or the 4th, I might have messed that up on the scoresheet, where's Homie when you need her?).
The home team put up a 5 spot in the third behind a Barry Guerrero Jr double and a bunch of dink and dunk singles and a walk. Hanet scored 4 next inning (or the previous inning if I got mixed up). At any rate after four and a half, we were down 14-11.
It was time for the new guys to get to work in the bottom of the fourth. Kevin crushed a three run dinger off the pole in left centre. John smacked a tater of his own with two runners on, but alas, the Falcons had already scored four, so only two runs counted... that's a "Scotty", folks! Falcons up 17-14 in this see-saw affair.
I guess Hanet can hit as they put up 8 big ones the next inning. Well after a couple donuts from each team, Falcons gonna Falcon and put up a crooked number late in the game. 5 straight singles, an FC, 3 doubles, a triple and 2 singles later, the Falcons score 9 to win it 26-22. Keep the free beer flowing, baby!
