Barry showed up in jeans with no uniform to Monday's Falcons game, leading the boys in blue (Barry was in blue too!) to a 20-16 win over the always difficult to beat Sunbelt Surge. While Barry a.k.a. "Levi's" (thanks Beatty!) didn't lead the team in hits on this late summer night, he led off the batting order and certainly led the team in style.

Surge is now 11-22 after this loss, but they beat the Falcons a couple weeks ago, and are always a tough team to play. In fact, their expected Pythagorean record based on runs scored/allowed is more like 15.6 wins and 18.4 losses (yes I looked up the formula), confirming what we all know, Surge is better than their record.

It was a tough start for Shohei, giving up a grand slam in the first inning to Ryan with his 25th dong of the season. 4-0 Surge after four batters. We listened to Grahambo and won the inning with 5 Falcons runs, behind a 3 run dinger from Johnny Wagons (thanks Beatty!).

Taxman hit his first career triple in the third, highlighting a max 6 run 2nd after a Surge delicious donut, 11-4 Falcons after two. Both teams traded a couple more max 6 run innings, traded donuts, and it's 17-10.

Ryan from Surge hit his 25th dong of the year in the 5th, on a ball that was gone as soon as it left the bat, powering a 6 run Surge inning. Speedbump kept things moving with another inside the park home run scoring 3 Falcons runs. That would be all she wrote, as the Falcons D kept Surge off the board in the 6th, game over, Falcons win 20-16.
