Sloppy Falcon defence in the late innings allowed Storm to storm back (ugh) to tie the Falcons 16-16 in game 1 of a Sunday night doubleheader on K2.

Homers by Senior Thompson and Big Cat in the first inning put the Falcons out to a 6-1 lead after 1. The defence was stellar for the birds, allowing only 3 runs for the frustrated Storm until the top of the sixth, when things went south for the Falcons. Storm put up 3 before the second out of the sixth was recorded, and 5 more after that. In total, they sent 13 men to the plate in the 6th inning to reduce their deficit to merely a run. The Falcons did some more bed pooping in the bottom half, and clung wearily (like Poutine holds a mom) to a 1 run lead going into the top of the seventh.

And unlike Poutine with most moms, the Storm did not strike out. In fact, they erased the lead and took a 4 run lead of their own with a five-spot in the top of the seventh. The Falcons, loins girded, salvaged the tie with Teets' 2-run game-tying jack as the whipped cream on the sundae. Why no cherry? Cherries are for closers. ABC.

Inside-the-park Home Run Watch: The last time a Falcon hit an inside-the-park home run was July 23, 2012.

Game Notes: Why can't I see all these Pokemon the kids are chasing all around us?... Pikachu has 4 walks this season, which seems unlikely based on how often he swings at (and hits!) balls which are over his head.
