assignment Falcons Rebound After Game One Loss
Sunday 9:30PM July 30th, 2017
In the finale of their season series, the Falcons evened things up with a GRITTY 11-10 squeaker over Storm to close out their doubleheader on Sunday night.

After Hall-of-famer Junior Tennant left, surely confused as to who these Falcons were, but nonetheless not surprised at their level of play now that he's not on the team, the Falcons came out flat in the top of the first. SLF, fresh off a weekend of the #docklife, showed up just in time to pop out to lead off the game, for seemingly the 100th time this season. After a ground out to Joey by Pikachu (don't hit it to Joey), singles by J-Paq and Sr. Thompson produced zero runs.

Storm always starts strong (as all all-star teams do), and this game was no different. They plated 4 in the top of the first, and we've all seen this movie before. It should be noted that in this movie, there's a different soundtrack playing in each dugout. This, for the Falcons, and say, this, for Storm. Lots of Kleenex used on both sides of the diamond, again, for different reasons.

The Falcons tied it up in the top of the second with the bottom of the line up picking up the top. Storm scored 4 more in the bottom of the second to regain their 4-run lead.

With Storm leading 10-5 after three, the Falcons swung the momentum. They scored 5 in the top of the 4th, highlighted by Poutine's 6th dinger of the year. Pou had previously been sulking on the bench because Million Dollar Bill was stuck in traffic and post game beers had been downgraded to "questionable". Bill showed up, and Poutine's eyes lit up.

The Falcon defence put the clamps on after that, and Storm didn't score again for the rest of the game. Some small ball scored the game winner in the top of the 7th, and the defence held the top of Storm's line up to a delicious doughnut in the bottom half to close it out.

Two Home Runs In One Inning Watch: The last time a Falcon hit two home runs in one inning was August 29, 2012.

Game Notes: Poutine struck Duran out LOOKING. This game note added by special request... No SLF, Falcons lose. SLF arrives, Falcons win. Coincidence? Almost assuredly... Can't measure GRIT... Bring the extended family for Pizza Night on August 13. Current outstanding pizza fines total 11-1/3 pizzas. Should be lots to eat!
